Villanova Club Baseball plays in the NCBA (National Club Baseball Association) at the Division 2 Level.  Our season consists of 15-20 games in the fall and around 12-17 games in the spring. We practice twice a week either on campus on one of the many turf fields or off campus at nearby batting cage facilities. The competition is similar to the level of play a high school varsity team displays.

Our season consists of 10-15 games in the fall. We practice once or twice a week on campus and play our games on the weekends generally from September to November. We travel to local colleges and universities. The competition level is similar to high school varsity play.

The Villanova Women’s Club Soccer Team is an excellent way to continue to play soccer at a competitive level without the commitment of a varsity team. The primary season takes place from the first week of September to mid-November. We hold practice at Villanova 2 nights a week and generally play 1-2 games a week. The league we play in consists of 9 teams all within the NJ/PA area. We also strive to compete in the Regional Tournament each year, as well as the NIRSA National Club Soccer Tournament. Our team consists of around 25 players and is an excellent way to meet new girls within the Villanova community.

The Club Swim Team is a club that provides students with the ability to continue to compete in the sport that they love while also making friends with students of all ages at Villanova. Participating students will have the benefit of both an intense cardio workout as well as the ability to gain a team that many refer to as a family. The team practices four times per week, Monday to Thursday from 9-10 p.m. We attend about four meets per semester and the season ends with the College Club Swimming Nationals meet in April.

Seasons

Fall-Begins the week school starts and ends before Thanksgiving. Competition is against colleges in the Mid Atlantic Division.

Spring-Begins in January when school starts and ends in April. Competition is against colleges and Masters teams in the Main Line League.

Practices

Practices occur four nights per week from 7-9 PM. Practices in the fall are largely centered around team tactics and training, while the spring time is devoted to individual skill instruction. The water polo club is run as a competitive team, so we expect team members to be at practice unless they have academic conflicts.

Games

Games occur on weeknights and weekends throughout each season. We play over 30 games per year, not including scrimmages.

Ability level Required

We provide an opportunity for everyone, regardless of ability or experience. No one is cut from the team and everyone gets to play in games. For the more experienced players, our goal is to get to the National Championship in the fall and win the Main Line League in the spring. For our less experienced players, we schedule games against novice teams in the fall and in the spring we compete in the "B" Division of the Main Line League. The only requirement is the ability to swim.

Academics

They always come first and our team GPA is well above 3.2 with 80% of our athletes maintaining a GPA higher than 3.2.

Giving Back

We believe in service to others, so we often run clinics for teams in the area.

Requirements to Become a Recognized Club

At this current time Villanova Club Sports is not accepting petitions to become a recognized club.

Any club wishing to be recognized by the Villanova University Athletic Department must schedule a meeting with the Coordinator of Club Sports & Recreation regarding the potential club. Potential clubs must also submit a proposal to the Office of Club Sports & Recreation. Proposals for new sports must be received by the last day of classes of the spring semester, proceeding the academic year the club wishes to be recognized. Club representatives will be notified of their club status prior to the first day of the fall semester. Please review the Club Sports Manual prior to submitting your proposal to ensure the awareness of club expectations upon recognition.

Concerns

Club athletes are encouraged to report any concerns or issues with their experience to the club sports office via email at any time, or by scheduling an in-person meeting with Ashley Montecchio Vero, Coordinator of Club Sports.
