Hurricanes Harvey and Irma marked the first time in recorded history that two Atlantic Category 4 hurricanes made landfall in the U.S. during the same year. Both storms left extensive damage in their wakes, leaving residents of Texas, Florida and all other affected areas to begin the long road toward recovery. Villanova faculty experts are available to discuss the meteorological and geographic factors that make these storms so destructive, how flood and stormwater management could be improved during the rebuilding process, and the potential economic ramifications for both the areas directly affected by storm damage, and the U.S. as a whole.
